What a week!!

Whew! Last week was typical of our lifestyle, with the exception of Ella's emergency trip (more on that in a moment!)
On Monday, we laid low here at home, and it seemed Cole came down with a stomach bug that left him down for the count for the day. He had a low fever, but after a dose of Motrin and resting during the day, he was wide awake at 10pm asking for something to eat, and wanting to hang out with Chris and I! We fed him, left him hang out for a half hour or so, and then put him to bed.
Cole seemed fine when he woke up on Tuesday, which was a busy day. First off was a trip to Target, followed by a trip to the local library to get the kids signed up for the summer reading program. The boys picked out books they wanted to read, and sat down to work on some puzzles while I finished getting their registration complete. Ella was skipping around, being her typical self when she tripped and went flying into a chair. I didn't expect to see blood, but I did and after dabbing the cut, I realized it was bad and she would need stitches. Within five minutes, the boys had their books checked out, workbooks for the summer reading program in hand, and we were outta there!! Thank goodness our pediatrician handles minor procedures directly in their office, so I managed to avoid a trip to the ER. Holding down a screaming 2 year old while she gets stitches in her head is no easy task, both physically AND emotionally!! She seemed fine as soon as we got out of there, but I was emotionally drained. I begged my husband to take us out to dinner, so off to Olive Garden we went. YUM! On our way home, we stopped at Stillmeadow Park to find our first bouy!
After the events on Tuesday, I refused to leave the house on Wednesday! I worked on setting up the boys summer event calendar, and did some cleaning.
Thursday was our trip to the grocery store, which is never fun with kids in tow. They did good for awhile, but it turned into a trainwreck fast! By the time I got to the checkout area, I had 2 whining boys, and a little girl who was trying to pull out her stitches. Fun times. Later that night, we took the kids to the York Haven Hydro Station to find another bouy.
Friday arrived, and I was thankful the week was coming to an end! I tried one of the new McCormick recipes for Garlic Lime Chicken wraps, and it was VERY good! We took the boys to Michael's after dinner, where they made t-shirts for Chris for Father's Day. Both boys chose to make shirts with racecars on them!
On Saturday, we took the kids to Toys R Us for a Lego Event, and later the boys went to the races with Chris, while Ella and I went to Park City with my sister.
Sunday was Father's Day, and the boys gave Chris and I a lovely gift ... they let us sleep in until 9am!! We really treasure moments like those!! After we got up and moving, we had an early lunch, and then went to Brown's for some ice cream. While we were there, the kids got their kid's club prize ... a free PA Native perrenial! They were excited to choose their own plant, and each chose something different. Chris spent the majority of the rest of the day working on the yard, garden, and flower beds while the boys played in the sprinkler and slip-n-slide.
That brings us to this week! This morning Ella had to get her stitches taken out. She did great, and only cried for a minute because she was afraid of the Doctor. Today is the first day of summer, so Redbox was giving away free movie rentals. The boys chose Astro Boy, which goes perfect with our theme this week. This week's theme is SPACE! Activities for the week include: create a spaceship, alien hunt, comet toss game, space pictures, space bingo, and creating a glow in the dark t-shirt. We'll also be viewing Planet 51.
Have a great week everyone!
